The mission of the School of Business at Hang Seng Management College is to provide quality business education to students by adopting the “Liberal + Professional” pedagogical teaching approach. The teaching and learning approach will emphasise the application of theories and enhancement of students’ professional skills. We wish to nurture innovative young people through providing them with an excellent education so that they can become responsible citizens in the knowledge-based economy.
We have seen a prominent growth of the student population in the School of Business over the last few years. It is the concerted effort of both the faculty members and students that has made the School a success. In addition, the recent approval of the Programme Area Accreditation status granted by HKCAAVQ has demonstrated the School’s unfailing commitment in the pursuit of academic excellence.
The School currently offers a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Banking and Finance, and Marketing. Other programmes are Bachelor of Business Administration in Corporate Governance, Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Analysis, and Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. To further strengthen the quality of the programmes and to allow a wider choice for students, the School will conduct regular reviews to enhance its curriculum and the structure of the programmes.
With the overwhelming success of the undergraduate business programmes, the School has embarked on a new initiative in offering a Master of Science in Entrepreneurial Management. The programme is expected to be launched in the academic year 2018.
In line with the vision of the School to become a reputable business school in Hong Kong and internationally with strengths in teaching, learning and research, the School plans to seek the AACSB international accreditation and preparation for this is now underway.
